8bit, so you can watch it on your toaster.
my toaster plays 10bit fine, but thanks
Thanks. I would prefer 10bit over 8bit as well, but it's nice that you included the German subs. It's it possible to offer 8bit and 10bit?
i also enjoy subs in language in which everything sounds like order of execution :^)

well, exmendic, you can use this subtitles for your own release. I didn't want to bloat, so only crf = 18 and ref =4, bframes = 3, so you can watch it actually on TV...
oops https://cdn.pbrd.co/images/HgJma1g.png
I don't make an own release. I haven't seen a TV so far that is able to play softsubs fine. I'm sure most people would watch it on a TV via console. Softsubs aren't supported there afaik. And in case they are, ref=16 and bframes=16 are supported by xbox one and ps4. It's pretty easy to encode a 8bit (hardsub) for compatibility reasons (if someone really needs it): https://iamscum.wordpress.com/guides/hardsub-guide/ With 10bit, crf=15 or 16, ref/bframes=16 and aq=3:0.90 it shouldn't bloat that much and the quality is much better. Imo it's always better going "full quality", because a downgrade for "compatibility reasons" is always possible. It's your decision. However, according to the comments above some people prefer 10bit as well.

well... AoD Release has almost same settings and it's 1.50 GB ... actually only autists will see any difference
Well, I'm still thankful for that release. Besides forgetting the one uncensored endcard, it's the only watchable release so far.
"I haven’t seen a TV so far that is able to play softsubs fine." Clearly we see different TVs. "I’m sure most people would watch it on a TV via console." You underestimate the YouTube generation's ability to never watch anything on a TV, even when it doesn't make sense not to. That said, "via console"? Which decade are you living in? These days everyone uses media streaming boxes or smart TVs for that sort of thing (when they're not just watching things on their mobile devices). The last time game consoles were the way most people watched things was when the PS2 was what everyone bought as a cheap way to play DVDs. People using game consoles for media consumption are totally in the minority now.
->Clearly we see different TVs. I talk about .ass softsubs. After a bit of research I found out that newer Samsung TV's support them. They probably support ref/bframes=16 as well then. ->uses media streaming boxes or smart TVs for that sort of thing Isn't it possible for media streaming boxes to playback 10bit content? ->Which decade are you living in? The current and I know a lot of people using their consoles, because they don't want to buy a new TV. Anyway, modern consoles shouldn't have a problem dealing with modern stuff as well.
Thanks for the release. Can you be faster for the next episode? @eXmendiC My LG Smart TV supports even embedded .ass but no 10bit unfortunatly.
Thanks for the English sub and high quality, have a nice day

@Tehe am already working on episode 01. Should be finished today (well, am from germany, so today means until midnight at UTC+1 :P)
10bit please. I'm autist. I notice it.

User
:P you won't notice it, as Anime on Demand uses 8bit and it's best quality, thanks to Gebbi. Indeed it's better than BD- Releases.
@AoD Seems like you have pic bending. Crop out the black edges in CR's vid first to avoid that.

@SaiyanRivals Can you tell me some frames?
Well, take a look at 20568 and 20569. Same picture without and with masking.

AoD (uploader)

User
i don't see any blending

[Imgur](https://i.imgur.com/h2aRS5t.jpg) Keep changing between the frames I wrote above and look at the highlighted area. Edit: In the masked version it's supposed to be placed to the right a bit. Also, not "blending" or "banding", it's "bending". What site are you using for pic comparison nowadays? Can't find a normal one to upload the frames.

@SaiyanRivals you are right, ty ... it's because of the shitty framerate of the HorribleSubs source I used for dehardsub ... Episode 01 will be dehardsubbed by Erai-Raws. Maybe i willl make a v2 of 00.
Oh, is HS still playing with the fps of the video to correct the 1 frame difference? I thought they figured out a way to shift the lines programmatically by now.
>:P you won’t notice it, as Anime on Demand uses 8bit and it’s best quality, thanks to Gebbi. Indeed it’s better than BD- Releases. His fansubs are 10bit though (for a reason). AoD is using massive amounts of static grain to avoid banding. With 10bit you don't need that, so it looks kinda 'cleaner'. It's also less bloated with 10bit. The reason why AoD isn't using 10bit is that only Google Chrome is able to stream 10bit h264.

Yes, but I want maximum compatibility, without hardsub shit. So ... it will be 8bit after all^^
