Once a struggling scriptwriter himself, Café Isobe writer-director Yoshida Keisuke channels his struggle through a woman with a single-minded goal to become a scriptwriter in dramedy The Workhorse and the Bigmouth. Kumiko Aso (Instant Swamp) stars as Michiyo, a hardworking scriptwriter (the "Workhorse" in the film's title) who is starting to realize that she may not have what it takes to be successful. During a scriptwriting course, Michiyo meets Yoshimi (Kanjani8's Yasuda Shota), a younger man who keeps boasting about his writing than actually doing it (earning him the "Bigmouth" in the title). Their pursuit for the film industry doesn't get any better for them, but the odd platonic couple may end up finding some comfort in each other
