This show is native 1080p, so go with that, if it's too big you can save like 1.5GB by remuxing the 24-bit flac audio to 16-bit. This command will do just that and outputs to directory one level lower, you'll need ffmpeg in your system path obviously FOR %f IN (*.mkv) DO call ffmpeg.exe -i "%f" -map 0 -c:v copy -c:s copy -c:a flac -sample_fmt s16 "../%f" If you want it to be smaller again you can just change "-c:a flac -sample_fmt s16" to "-c:a aac -b:a 256k" the audio quality difference between 16-bit flac and 24-bit is not perceivable to the human ear so it's bloat. 256k aac will be worse, but you probably won't be able to tell the difference. And yeah, this will mean you will need to keep a duplicate set of the files if you want to seed. But anyway this show deserves to be watched in 1080p, so if you have to remux the audio to save some space, better off doing that then downgrading to 720p.

Consider using qaac instead of ffmpeg. `qaac [audiofile] -V 127` will probably be indistinguishable from 16bit FLAC and much, much smaller.

Well yeah qaac is better, but that complicates the muxing process a bit for noobs. I would've recommended using it if it was simpler to pipe a ffmpeg command out to it and then back in for muxing. But It's not simple to do that sadly. Also fdk-aac is good too but will require you to compile ffmpeg with the --nonfree option on linux then transfer it over to windows which is also... not simple.
