Screenshots - https://ibb.co/album/gus4bF SDF Macross Episode 01 Bridge bunnies and bad music to sell all the toys! Denoised and encoded by yack-denoiz All effort was taken to stabilize and remove noise while not damaging detail. This was not always completely possible, especially during the 'cinematic' sequences (OP, Intermission, and ED) Known Issues with this encode: * 10:27 - 10:38 -- This ship jumping in is both incredibly noisy and very very detailed. I was not able to find a way to remove all the noise without destroying it * 13:33 -- There is slight artifacting visible on 3 frames. Unless you're looking for it, it's not noticeable * 24:02 - End -- I don't know what the ED was recorded on [I think it might have been some kind of potato], but the footage is _terrible_. I could not find a way to completely stabilize it Version 1 - Changelog below Authoritave source for my releases: https://nyaa.iss.one/user/denoiz Feedback is welcome! Did I miss some artifacts, or would you like to see different video/audio codecs? @Draconiano - Thank you for the meaningful, useful and insightful comment </sarcasm>
Just downloaded this, can't hear anything. Seems like it's working as intended, thanks!

why do people love using random fucking image hosts instead of the ones literally made for screenshot comparison
Hey can you mind the language, please?

@LCE - Because some of us might not be familiar with the image hosts you're referring to. Would you care to elaborate?
Looks great!! Can't wait to see the rest of the series.
I can't believe that in 2019 people are still doing this. It ruins the image, making the whole thing look smudgy. Grain is SUPPOSED to be there and any amount of denoising removes fine detail. Just accept that Cel animation has film grain and that not everything is supposed to look like it was made today using digital techniques.

@Oreldo - Try downloading and watching the Bunnyhat Bluray rip. Watch it side by side with my encode. Then tell me it looks better, because it sure as hell doesn't. I suppose to each their own though. Good thing the Internet is big enough for us both.
I think you've done a really good job! This is mostly a matter of taste and what you're ready to give up. Pros in your edit: The thing that sticks out the most is the colors, they sort of ''pop'' more, that to me gives it a new fresh look, which I like. Cons: Loss of details in certain areas, mostly in the backgrounds and can make them look a little bit ''clayish'', however, alot of these can go unnoticed if you don't look for them or don't mind them. The perfect remaster hasn't been done yet, not even officially. The only one that is perfect, that is a perfect middle ground is in the SDF Macross Blu-Ray Box: the Stereo/Mono Special Version OP/ED in there are masterfully done, and those have even more details than the episodes. It's a shame though that they didn't do that work for the entire show, because the episodes are still very grainy and washed out, but the details are the best so far.
