Thank you! At least Crunchyroll does SOME typesetting. Funimation, Amazon, and Netflix do zero, and HiDive/Sentai barely does any.

TBH, official typesetting is unwatchable.

Crunchyroll's isn't anywhere at the level of a good fansubber, no, but at least they color code things, have easily readable main subtitle styles, and and position on-screen text in places that make sense. Everyone else except HiDive just puts all the text in the same area on the screen and even Hidive's minimal positioning completely breaks when I watch it on my FireTV through VRV. Hence, Crunchyroll is the only remotely watchable official subs.

Eh, CR's Mob Psycho is actually *watchable* in terms of TS. (not to say that it's preferable to the alternatives, but Erai-raws is probably the best source for S2 at the moment since HS's font shenanigans break the TS)

I have seen worst typesetting I guess it better than horriblesubs. But you guys have to retime properly, I have seen many scenebleeds and tbh it's pretty horrible to watch. Did erai screwing in timing?

@gsk_ We didn’t really touch the dialogue lines, so can’t say anything about the timing of those. The signs we added should be frame-perfectly timed, it seems to work fine in both MPV and VLC on my end. I’m not sure where your problems are.

But then again you can fix 50-60% issues by using TPP(takes 2sec to fix) but it's really unreliable. @gsk_ I purposefully moved every line one frame forwards. I have this strange problem where after I mux, the subtitles end up being one or two frames early (at least on my end) on both VLC and MPV. Shifting the lines forwards fixed that problem. So this appears to be just a problem on my end, and the subtitles look off for everyone else? See what I mean with a strange problem. Nobody else mentioned that the subs were off before and honestly I'm not sure how to be sure of the timings now. (Both with mkvtoolnix and avidemux the problem occurs)

I actually have the same issue when doing my One-Stuff subs for JJBA. HorribleSubs's (and thus VentoGiusto's) subs are already not in sync, and then what appears to be in sync in Aegisub is a frame off during actual playback. I managed to work around it by adding `--sync 0:83` as a modifier for the sub track when invoking mkvmerge (add 83ms of delay to the sub track if using mkvtoolnix GUI). This seems to work for making sure the muxed results reflect what shows up in Aegisub, at least it did for me. Still needed to do an initial shift, but at least I knew what the result would look like.

@The0x539 Oh with my blind face I totally overlooked the subtitle delay settings in mkvtoolnix. Although this is technically not a fix to the problem, it means that when people reuse the subtitles it won't be slightly off so I'll try this from now on. Thanks

No please don't do all that shifting things. To fix this issue you change the framerate while muxing the video in mkv merge, sometimes you have to force the mkv merge to know what is the frame rate https://extraimage.net/image/OcOq And time shift of subs is really bad since mkv merge isn't exactly does the delays, it leaves with a margin like if you give +30 it won't be exact but around the number, and mkvmerge itself says that don't use ms delays on subs, on audio it is acceptable but not on subs @PCFreak7 from now on just time it normally but while muxing make sure give frame rate. And I still have lot of issues with TS itself but for a quick release it isn't worst.

@gsk_ I'm sure what you're talking about is relevant to something, but from my testing, it doesn't matter, at least not with the issues I have. Both HS's video and my muxed video (without changing any default-duration metadata) already show up (in mkvinfo-cli) as having the correct video framerate of 23.976. Furthermore, specifying the framerate changes nothing. (as one would expect if it were already correct) My question is how any of this happens in the first place if everything *seems* to be correct from a file format/metadata standpoint. HS and Erai very often have a slight desync with CR subs; do CR users actually see this, or is something very dumb happening that both groups just continue to do for no apparent reason?

I don't know why this happens but changing the frame rate did fix it for me and that's all I need
