In order to put an end to the Kyuubi's rampage, the leader of the village, the Fourth Hokage, sacrificed his life and sealed the monstrous beast inside the newborn Naruto. Now, Naruto is a hyperactive and knuckle-headed ninja still living in Konohagakure. Shunned because of the Kyuubi inside him, Naruto struggles to find his place in the village, while his burning desire to become the Hokage of Konohagakure leads him not only to some great new friends, but also some deadly foes. It has been two and a half years since Naruto Uzumaki left Konohagakure, the Hidden Leaf Village, for intense training following events which fueled his desire to be stronger. Now Akatsuki, the mysterious organization of elite rogue ninja, is closing in on their grand plan which may threaten the safety of the entire shinobi world. Although Naruto is older and sinister events loom on the horizon, he has changed little in personality-still rambunctious and childish-though he is now far more confident and possesses an even greater determination to protect his friends and home. I know that there already exist other edits like the excellent Naruto Kai project, however I was sometimes not exactly happy with some of the cuts and the quality of the raws used. I also wanted to preserve the episodic nature of the series (roughly 23-minute episodes with openings and endings), something that any anime enthusiast is very much used to. #### **Details:** * All episodes are in **MKV**, **softsubbed** and have **chapters**. Video is in 720p if possible, otherwise I use an R2DVD version, with early Shippuuden episodes upscaled with [AnimeUpscale script](http://www.l33tmeatwad.com/scripts/anime-upscale). * The vast majority of the filler material is removed - all filler arcs are gone, and all references to them within the canon episodes are purged. The only non-canon material left is if it adds an additional background to the character which is consistent with the canon content. For example, in the original Naruto, all references to the filler arc "Land of Tea Escort Mission" are completely removed. However Gaara's and Sasori's additional memories are left in, since they just take what is already known in canon and simply highlighting it. * I decided to end Shippuuden with episode 479 for multiple reasons. Firstly, this episode ends with the last page of Naruto ch. 700, which serves as a framing device together with the first page of ch. 001. Secondly, the episode is based on ch. 699, which ends all the plots and arcs of the series, and serves as a narrative end. Thirdly, the only untold story left was Naruto becoming hokage in ch. 700, which was moved to the Boruto anime anyway. I therefore decided not to include anything from after the time skip in my edit. * Most of the edits are done according to the [Naruto Episode to Manga Converter list](https://www.narutoforums.org/threads/naruto-and-boruto-filler-list-episode-to-chapter-converter.501381/). Used programs: MKVToolNix (muxing, chapter editing, simple cuts with no re-encoding), SolveigMM Video Splitter (more advanced cuts with no re-encoding), and VideoPad Video Editor (advanced editing with re-encoding). * Translations and raws by various groups/people: nezumi, somuchmore, AnimeRG (which I believe have subs from CR), Tsuki, Hatsuyuki, NotWCP, SOFCJ-Raws. I tried to minimise differences in translations, e.g. use surname-first convention, Root vs Foundation, synchronise some jutsu names. #### **Acknowledgements:** Delgon and Kal for double-checking the episodes and help with encoding and raw searching. Due to great number of used RAWs and releases, MediaInfo data has been compressed to one image containing encode info of every group. #### **Overall path length can be as long as ~200 characters. Users using Windows machines and clients should consider putting it closer to the main root directory (DRIVE_LETTER:/ | C:/) to avoid windows 260 path character limit.**
