+ While most of the time we naturally think that new formats immediately equate to better quality, I.E. BD > DVD > LD > VHS and so on, it’s not always the case. In pretty much ever scenario, the source (Region 2, or specifically Japanese) versions of any individual series will very probably trump that hierarchy. In this case, the Japanese laserdiscs are very clearly superior to the Region 1 DVD. Was it worth the money I spent on them? Hell no. Is it a distinct, across the board improvement? Yes. Also, better quality audio than the DVDs, which seems to be an innate benefit to LDs.
+ Laserdiscs naturally come with sleeves. I’ve gotten them scanned, seriously, give them a download. They’re nice. Not quite as much as the actual discs displayed on my shelves, but still.

Early 90’s OVAs are always the best. Especially when in story form, thanks.
