For use with [my](https://nyaa.iss.one/view/1198098) encode of Episode 8. Literally took me about a day's worth of work stretched over two days. Had no idea how to time subs before this, and it took a little while until I got an actual workflow going on in the program. I completely re-timed every line, the original timing was completely messed up and all scrunched up together, but at least (almost) all of the lines were in order. Tried to fix the karaoke for the OP and ED; while not perfect, my version is a hell of a lot better than the original subs. By the way, the original subs, from my short research, come from a Russian sub group called DOMO. The actual translation quality is a little on the poor side, but gets the message across at least. Made some small translation changes here and there.
Cool, thanks! I'm glad you were able to do some work with the timing, and it's nice that you could improve the translation a little bit in the process. I'll give these a watch with your rip of episode 8. I actually have video files from some torrent in 2014 that match the timing of the DOMO subs perfectly, but their quality doesn't compare to your DVDrip. The show really deserves some additional translation work now that it looks so nice!
Do you think you'll release any more retimed/touched up subs? It'd be great to have them all timed for your release. And if anyone else is watching, now that we have such a high-quality rip of the show it'd be nice to see a proper fansub group showing some interest in completing it, or at least in filling in the missing midseason episodes!
I think I'll probably try to do the rest. From what I just checked, if I use the same timings for the OP/ED, a very simple shift for the ending is all that's needed to keep these portions timed correctly, saving me some work. If anything, trying to time the karaoke was probably half as time consuming as timing the actual dialogue, so I think I should be able to pump these out with relative ease if I stay determined to finish these.
Nice! That reminds me of when I used to do writing for the government, and one of the best things me and a coworker figured out was how to automate the parts that were the same every time. It saves a ton of work! Thankfully you'll never have to do the karaoke again, lol.
I hope you stay determined to finish them all. I'll watch them! :)
