You heard me, a 44.1KHz FLAC copy of Planetes, rather than some 128kbps mp3 copy, it’s a good soundtrack, it deserves the best. Hell, I nearly bought a copy of it.
I’ve been looking for this for quite a while, and eventually, I found an APE codec copy on an unbelievably dodgy Russian torrent site, after downloading it over a week, running it through VirusTotal and then again for good measure, I cleaned up and re-encoded it to FLAC, finally I used the CUE file and Filebot to add metadata and divide the file into individual tracks.
I also threw in some album art, upscaled with W2X for good measure because the best quality sources are 300x300 jpegs.

Ahhh perhaps I was being a bit flippant, apologies. The issue is that the CD is out of print, and finding a used CD is very expensive and quite rare, importing is similarly difficult. I would have bought it if I could. I bought the Dark Horse Omnibus manga volumes, but that’s about as much as you can get in the west.

It wasn’t Rutracker, they do good work from what I’ve heard but I didn’t have access to them. The site itself appeared to be some kind of scraper for other torrent sites.

Oh don’t worry I wasn’t directing that at you. I also don’t like buying albums others have uploaded unless I really love them. As for the other thing you mentioned, I decided to look and you can buy the first and second OSTs of this series for a total of $25 so its not like its that expensive (bar shipping which is also not bad since I buy in bulk). Oh and I live in the west too :).
