Episode 14 of Anime Sanjuushi aka The Three Musketeers. Retrocrush rip and half-assed edit. The video is remastered, but cropped 16:9, though there is additional artwork on the sides compared to the 4:3 original dvd version. Subs are edited retrocrush with song translations pulled from Live-eviL's subs, and like I said before, haphazardly at best. Not sure if I'll do any more episodes, but if you can't wait, you can watch it legally [here](https://www.retrocrush.tv/series/014838s/the-three-musketeers/). If there's enough demand, I'll be willing to possibly make this a weekly thing. Yo, I'd definitely be interested if you made this an ongoing thing. I've wanted to watch this show for ages, but Retrocrush is region blocked where I am, and you're right, those subs look like balls.
@kaidu: Yeah, oddly enough the video on Retrocrush is cropped. I would imagine that's how it was released on the Japanese BD. Despite the resolution increase, it's not ideal if you ask me, but still watchable.
@OP: I'd like to see you continue this. If for no other reason just to have the sub rips available for any potential future releases. Alternatively, if you could release subrips for episodes 14-52, someone might be tempted to go ahead and comb through them all for any grammatical errors.
@vigorousjammer I don't think this show had a blu-ray release, and I couldn't find it in any jp streaming site. Either this show had a rerun in Japan and was remastered for it, or they actually remastered it for Retrocrush. Are the other shows there 16:9 too?
@kaidu I haven't used the service much because of some series having low video quality, but it seems like most of the stuff on RetroCrush is presented in whatever the original aspect ratio was (in most cases 4:3). Not sure why, but Anime Sanjushi seems to be the outlier.
Very strange that there was no BD release, too, seeing as how the visuals don't appear to be upscaled but an actual remastered higher-res version.

The difference between the two is extremely clear, and the new version definitely appears to be a remaster at first glance.
I do suppose it could be an upscale from a better source, though, like Betacam broadcast tapes or something...
However, with the popularity of streaming services, I guess it's also possible they remastered it from film masters just for AsianCrush/RetroCrush.
Either way, It's too bad they cropped it.
Any updates on ripping the full show, or at least providing a means of ripping stuff ourselves? I'm still really interested in giving the subs a thorough cleaning.
