**Note**: Finally no more 4:3 but 16:9. On the other side, this change came with a terrible quality drop. This set is just a very bad upscale of DVDs with all the ensuing issues. We tried to fix what was possible, but the image will still appear blurred (oversharpening was never an option) and with bad lines. I wouldn't even say "watch DVD instead" in this case, but just go read the manga :)
Speaking about the muxing process, I tagged the Signs/Songs track as Jap language so you can easily choose it if watching with english dub, then I synced (with the help of Sushi) Crunchyroll subtitles to provide an alternative to the bad looking PGS and a couple more languages.

@Judas, I don't know if you would be willing to do this, but can you compare the Bluray version to the HDTV version? I saw someone else post a link to the screenshots comparing all the different versions of these episodes and the HDTV and Amazon WEB-DL had the best quality. If possible, maybe you could do an HDTV version of these episodes? They seem to be of a much higher quality.
Thanks a lot! A shame the box set came with poorly upscale 720p but there's not much you can do about that. You would think they would be able to preserve their own media better. Nonetheless thank you for your work see you in a couple months (hopefully) for the next set.
Edit: It doesn't look that bad though, probably the best way to watch bleach at the moment.
@kumar_ratnam BD is better than HDTV for this season, the HDTV version for season 9 was encoded back in 2008 with CRF 22 which in today standard ain't that good.

Bleach was broadcast in SD-i/486p even the episodes that were broadcast in _wide-screen and HD_ where still mastered in SD-i and where up-scaled for the TV broadcast.

I have a 720p version but it looks more clear than the 1080p version especially at the edges !!

@ahmad3li Kametsu's version is quite good, I've not seen that quality I have a similar one but it's not dual audio, just English dubbed. Judas thank you for the stunning release. Much appreciated my friend
@ahmad3li Viz cap the Bleach BD at 23.976 fps which causes those lines u see in ur pictures. The HDTV version was encode in 29fps or in VFR, which fix that issue. The BD is still better especially in the dark scenes, it retain more quality. As for the BD getting better I hope for that too ?

Here a screenshot between a encode vs the BD source, if you look at Nel hair and top of her sword u can see some of the lines are fixed.
Judas i appreciate your work but after watching this release, i highly suggest that you rip the remaining episodes from DVD and upscale or obtain a Raw 1080p HDTV footage
it is simply not worth it to work on what they provided for a Blu-Ray release from #7 and beyond
don't waste your time Judas, you did a good effort on pack 1 to 6, sadly the Producers of pack 7 and anything we would have to wait until December 2021 to get pack 13 [final] is simply not worth the wait and time you would spend on
time to preserve this anime the way it should have been
i have yet to compare my Arigatou1-333 subbed that was 29 frames to this 23 frames BD rip i feel its choppy, ill have to compare side by side in Adobe premier
have you even watched Vol.7 & 8 Blu-ray Footage?
you need new pair of glasses because original Upscale 1080p HDTV Broadcast is twice as sharp and better looking, it isn't his fault, the BD releases after vol 6 is garbage
the best thing that Judas did for the world is converting most decent anime into a smaller size, some anime don't deserve the 200+GB from the old encode

honestly watching the butchered BD release was like watching a bootleg Bleach or somebody was tracing the original drawing with a shaky hand, the quality Drop from vol.6 to vol.7 is Night and Day
Nobody cares what you think SoulTaker. If you don't like it don't watch it. Don't tell Judas how to spend their time since they are doing the work. Go back to you cave and pretend you matter. Leave the rest of us alone.

SoulTaker Shut the f**k up!! I want Judas to do all Bleach Blu-Rays whether you like it or not. The quality will get better in the future!! They did 6 good ones and 2 bad ones. You're encouraging Judas to stop just because of those 2 bad ones. That's really unfair!! You can't just assume that every single one from this point on is going to be bad!! It will get better!!
Comparison of the Blu-ray vs my restoration. I plan on doing all canon episodes 190 and up first and then completing all the filler. I dropped this info in the Judas discord to see if they were interested in picking up my project as their official release since I have no way to host/seed. The clean up process takes about 10-20 hours per episode depending how bad the source is and incremental scaling. Knocking out about an episode a day or so.

Sadly the Kametsu Encodes are dubs and not complete. Does anyone have access to the 1080p TV source for bleach? Coz that's the best source after episode 167.

Notes: Bleach was “hd” broadcast/created only in max 720p resoluton. Not 1080p!! So the HorribleSubs 1080p release which is actually a WebRip from VIZ, is just a poor blurry upscale same goes for all of the new bluray releases post episode 167. Pre Episode 167, the New Bluray releases were actually remastered and properly upscaled from the source, that’s why they look sharp and actually 1080p…
TV-Japan release is RAW so just download subs for them from https://subscene.com…

@SoulTaker: Well, We agree that Vol.7 onwards is trash, team [Judas] and team [RB26DETT] also made it to Set 11, and the quality is still poor for both, so what we to do? Do you think it will release another version (Bluray) better? More sharp and clearer? Or will the situation remain as bad as it is now?
@TheLiberator: Thank you, but why isn't the source remastered episodes after 167? It is clearly poor quality episodes! Why not release it in 1080p or higher?
