Akira has saved up all his money and finally managed to buy himself a computer. But having missed the sale on the new 9821 model, he buys one from a back-alley vendor. When his gets home he realizes he didn't buy the 9821 computer, he bought the 2198 gynoid. Still, she is far more advanced then a computer and will do whatever he asks of her, and more.
A short 3-episode ecchi anime from the late 90s, and a great one at that. Not only does it have a star-studded cast, but the plot is not bad at all. And it's quite funny with all the references to PC culture. Of course the evil computers are Nacintosh, and the virus is represented by a worm. The animation is pretty damn good, and there's actual (though completely obscured) intercourse. Lots of boobies are in full view though, as Mimi has no nudity taboo. Akira's one lucky bastard. Give it a shot, you will probably like it.
The subtitles are from the R1 release.

Thanks. The only other release that was noteworthy that I've seen of this was the older Exiled-Destiny release from the past but I don't believe it was a remux version.
In its early days, Orphan might have done a project like Buttobi (two t's according to AniDB), to deal with the atrocious R1 sub timing, lack of typesetting, ugly VOB or SRT subs, etc. Start with the Reinforce raw, OCR the R1 subs, time, typeset, etc...
These days, as DmonHiro points out, Orphan tends to focus on unsubbed back catalog shows, particularly those stranded on the wrong side of the Digital Divide. See https://collectr.blogspot.com/2020/01/status-2020.html (shameless advert).
~350 mb is a big enough size from an encode made from R1 DVDs, and afaik they only used Vorbis on their very first releases. The majority of the others, and this one included, have AC3 audio, which I assume are untouched rips from the DVDs, and that’s what I assume these episodes also are? Otherwise, ~2 gb per episode would be one bloated encode. And I thought the [Eva](https://nyaa.iss.one/view/728992) release I made forever ago was bloated. This is a pretty good anime, so thanks for your work. Still, if you had E-D’s release, I wish you’d muxed in the English dub, too. Some people can’t read subs even if they’d like to…
@dejindo
Do yourself a favor and NEVER use E-D. They always have the worst quality possible. I believe there's a release by GRAINY which looks reasonably well, maybe better than the DVD itself. It's on AB but I dunno if anyone ever uploaded it to nyaa.
>The DVD9 R2J source is the best available but that's not saying much. Sadly it's plagued by burned frames and dot crawls (no filter get rid of them perfectly) with a lot of combing. The DVD is a hybrid with mostly film material. After extensive testing, I was able to minimize the combing artifact to a reasonable level without using strong denoizers. However, there are still some shimmering from the decombing filter that could not be completely eliminated without going crazy with temporal Smoothers.
@HomemadeAntsyPuppet: This isn't an encode. This is a DVD remux from the Japanese R2 DVD. This is exactly what was on the R2 DVD, only with added subtitles.
HomemadeAntsyPuppet, "Some people can’t read subs even if they’d like to"
lol why? I'm sure anyone who can use the internet to find anime is able to read.
