The French Bluray with superior encoding and framing compared to the US Bluray. If you don’t care about file size and just want the best possible quality, then this is for you!
*Special thanks to users pip3 for sharing this originally and scav for providing [great info](https://nyaa.iss.one/view/1329899#com-3) on the differences between the US and FR versions!*
[Comparisons with USBD and other encoded uploads](https://slow.pics/c/cbZDOiQc) (5 different comparisons).
Evident from the comparisons is that even the best encodes lose some of the detail and quality, especially so in the darker areas where you can see blockiness and color banding. The biggest problem with the FRBD is the adaptive bitrate, but overall the bigger framing and better encoding make it the better choice over the USBD imo. The USBD also suffers from I-frame pulsing, the FRBD doesn't. (Check the USBD torrent's comments for more info)
For some reason the only release of the soundtrack that actually has the movie's main theme "Kanashimi no Belladonna", its reprise version and "Jeanne no Namida" (all sung by the mysterious Mayumi Tachibana) is the Italian vinyl from 1975. Included in this torrent is a somewhat decent MP3 rip from said Italian vinyl that I found, and a 2016 digital rerelease from Finders Keepers Records in FLAC that indeed doesn't have the aforementioned tracks. For the "complete" soundtrack you can always add the missing songs to the digital version from the vinyl rip.
Two of the three missing songs are also available on [Tachibana's EP from 1973](https://www.discogs.com/%E6%A9%98%E3%81%BE%E3%82%86%E3%81%BF-%E5%93%80%E3%81%97%E3%81%BF%E3%81%AE%E3%83%99%E3%83%A9%E3%83%89%E3%83%B3%E3%83%8A/release/5481593), but I couldn't find a rip of it anywhere, so for now this is the best we have.
Now, to get the best viewing experience, my recommendation is to change your monitor's refresh rate to 24Hz (not 23.976, but 24.000 and if your monitor doesn't support it straight away you can use [Custom Resolution Utility](https://www.monitortests.com/forum/Thread-Custom-Resolution-Utility-CRU) to force it) so you don't repeat any frames. Trust me when I say it's especially smart to do so for this movie because of the multitude of long panning shots, which look way smoother when viewed with the correct refresh rate.
Also included is the booklet from the US Bluray with history about the film and its surrounding environment at the time of its release.
