"Group Sounds" means Japanese beat groups from the 1960s, spilling over into some surf rock etc.. Three authorized Group Sounds collections were released in the West (Big Beat's "G.S. I Love You" series, all accounted for here), as are some of the big albums, but the lion's share remains Japan-only. "Group Sounds" ends with the transition into New Rock. For the sake of completion, several New Rock albums by former Group Sounds acts are included, as are compilations that split the eras and would be of interest to Group Sounds fans. This torrent collects most of the circulating Group Sounds discs, assembled over a period of years. You get almost all of the 1990s "Cult GS" series (missing only Teichiku Vol. 2 and the Lily's/Van-Dogs singles colllection), the big Cult GS box, and many many many albums by The Golden Cups, The Tempters, and other favorites. Almost everything is 100% log CD rips; there are also some WEB downloads and one or two good clean vinyl rips. If multiple versions of an album circulate, all are included. Pick your favorite. It is free anyway. Not included are bootleg or pirate releases: Flawed Gems reissues (many of which are lossy), Shagadelic CDs, etc. Also, grey-area western VA comps ("Big Nippon Monsters from Gamera-Land"). Most of these were not retagged from their original sources. Everything is as-is except for some slight renaming.
