File name is fucked, it's Hi10 instead of Hi10P. Sorry about that.
Thanks for the hard work! The karaoke is fantastic and the typesetting is great as well.
Thanks! Why no HEVC this time?
Is it suppose to have 2 .mkv in the filename?
Why use imgur for preview? They compress the image to the point where you can't really judge the quality of your encode.
Imgur doesn't compress .png, silly. It's just encoded so shitly you see pools of bleeding pixels. But why you need to reencode already reencoded CR release is beyond me. Enormous quality loss for ~15% less file size. It wouldn't matters much - it's TV streaming ready release, not BD - but holy shit dude, quality-wise it looks like 500mb release at best. I'm really curious of your encoding settings because it's beyond me how did you manage to fuck up so bad.
Imgur definitely compresses images to save space. Whether it's a .png or .jpg, the extension is irrelevant. I am not sure about the reencode situation, Edge isn't a shitty reencoder so I find it weird that the quality is allegedly worse than CR.
Hey there! Thanks for all the feedback. Can you point out some places where you see big quality loss? I'm myself not big of an encoder, so it's a bit hard for me judge stuff by myself, but here are some comparisons with the release. https://slow.pics/c/qoylt8QZ https://slow.pics/c/ZZ8I8y5B https://slow.pics/c/Z8jjnfgC Anyways, v2 is already on it's way with a new encode, and slightly modified ED TL.
I haven't watched your release but I doubt that someone like usagiaddict found something wrong with the video especially when they don't even know why fansubs encode source.
I am pretty sure it was just caused by Imgur, and he doesn't know that imgur compresses the images up to that point. From somewhat of a quick look, the encodes are pretty similar. BullySubs seems to have less aliasing and noise, but it's barely noticeable unless you zoom in or pause, anyway.
@Interruptor Imgur does compress jpg images with data loss, it won't do the same with png, just standard quantization, metadata and chunks removal. I'm pretty sure they had lossless compression of png until pretty recently, if that has changed - mea culpa. @Zahuczky I'd have to grab torrent file and compare it myself rather than commenting on spoonfed cherry-picked screenshots. Just in first screen: blurred electric lines, pixelized grain on edges of characters, Nagatoro shirt's CR encoded grain has become fist-sized chunk of pixels instead. On second screen everything that has color on it has been dealt the same way, CR has adaptive quantization set to 2 or even 3 (as far as I recall and from what I see) so they keep details without blurring everything and having lower filesize than they would otherwise. You just blur the fuck of everything in these areas and make artifact chunks around edges. Your releases aren't hosted by anyone on IRC so I can't download it but all of above will be most visible during action scenes; these are static ones. So, can I have your encoding parameters? @RoxReaper You tell me why fansubs encode encoded streaming sources of seasonal tv anime, pretty please. You sound like an expert on this topic.
Not an expert, not even close but here have it anyway https://nyaa.iss.one/view/1262787#com-12
Only valid argument here is to stich together parts of different sources to make episode more enjoyable (just like based @Zastin does). Everything else is in "slapping bunch of filters and hope for the best" category, most obvious being first-timer "encoders" bumping up contrast or introducing aliasing so normalfags could feel how much better this release is compared to others. And none of these are in relation to this release.
Thanks! But will wait for your BD batch if ever you will do it. *please*
Those mess-arounds at 4:23, 13:32 and 21:22 were great. Please tell me they weren't already from the CR subs.
did you get rid of the "self-reported" line?
@Starman_Tumbleweed yes

@Delphisage Lol. CR would never do anything like that. I did them of course. I'm glad you liked them. __-Zahuczky__
Excellent work with the little subtitle gags, they had my fiancé and I rolling on the floor. Thanks so much for these, I'm looking forward to more!
What “self-reported” line?
