A not so perfect, yet servicable (hopefully) Texhnolyze R2J sub-only DVD release. No ordered chapters, linked mkvs or crap like that.
Source: R2J DVDs
Subs: Restyled KAA (Kickassanime)
Audio: Japanese FLAC
Video: X264 480p
Very minor subtitle fixes included. Suggested player is MPV.
I know the R2 version is brighter that the R1.
But is it me or when the camera is moving at a constant speed, the R2 version looks smoother than the R1 version (which has weird micro stuttering). For example see EP01 at 16:00.
Few new Texhnolyze torrents out. Lets do comparisons.
At first the source. There is R1 DVD and R2J DVD. The main difference is that R1 is much darker. This crushes some shots completely http://www.framecompare.com/screenshotcomparison/F2JCFNNU
I can't find R2J DVD anywhere. Anyone got those to share?

The DVDRip is almost identical to the DVD, just slightly smoothed so some of the noise is removed. NotSoSick is a bit more smoothed.
kuchikirukia seems to have more detail than Pariah. But the difference is very small and without R2J DVD to compare to I can't be too sure about it.
Overall they all seem fine to me.
The stuttering mentioned at 16:00 is also on the R1 DVD. But it is not present R2J based torrents so it is flaw on the R1 DVD.
NotSoSick has stuttering at around 15:59 on ep 1 that is not present on the DVD or on other torrents.
kuchikirukiahas seems to use different subtitle style for different episodes.
Features:
R1 DVD: eng+jp + eng subs, DVD extras (trailers, interview, bloopers, OP, ED).
DVDRip: same + prettier subs.
kuchikirukia: eng+jp + eng subs
NotSoSick, Pariah: only jp + sub.
Verdict:
If you prefer the darker colors then DVDRip is the best choice. NotSoSick has some stuttering and the DVD isos are inconvenient.
IMO R2J is the superior source. Lets go with kuchikirukia since it has dual audio.
I only checked EP 1 and 2. I didn't check If any of them has issues in later episodes.
@olio2, you forgot about Urotsuki's rip.
R2J DVD upscaled up to 720p with some sharpen filters. I think it's the best choise.

no idea about urotsuki but the [ARC] release on Animetosho is just Urotsuki raws plus KAA subs
honestly I've no idea what the best release for this show really is, especially with the Beatrice BDrip now
