Amidst this seemingly eternal downpour arrives the runaway high school student Hodaka Morishima, who struggles to financially support himself—ending up with a job at a small-time publisher. At the same time, the orphaned Hina Amano also strives to find work to sustain herself and her younger brother. Both fates intertwine when Hodaka attempts to rescue Hina from shady men, deciding to run away together. Subsequently, Hodaka discovers that Hina has a strange yet astounding power: the ability to call out the sun whenever she prays for it. With Tokyo's unusual weather in mind, Hodaka sees the potential of this ability. He suggests that Hina should become a "sunshine girl"—someone who will clear the sky for people when they need it the most. Things begin looking up for them at first. However, it is common knowledge that power always comes with a hefty price... *[Written by MAL Rewrite]* **Episodes:** 1 **Episode duration:** 1 hr. 52 min. **Year:** 2019 **Genres:** Slice of Life, Drama, Romance, Fantasy **Rating:** 8.36 ([MyAnimeList](https://myanimelist.net/anime/38826/Tenki_no_Ko)) | **General** | **Video** | **Audio** | **Subs** | |-------------------------- |------------------------------------------- |------------------------- |---------------------------------------- | | **Source:** JP Blu-Ray | **Codec:** AOMedia AV1 | **Codec:** Opus | **Authors:** Hi10 | | **Container:** MKV | **Preset:** CQ 16 - 2 pass - CPU1 | **Bitrate:** 192 kbps | **Source:** Hi10 | | **Total size:** 2,29 GiB | **Bit depth:** 10-bit | **Channel:** 2.0 Stereo | **Format:** ASS | | **Encoding time:** 5 days, 2 hours and 34 minutes (approx.) | **Res:** 1920x1080 | **Language:** Japanese | **Language:** English | | - | **Encoder:** aomenc 3.1.1-417-g9eada93ae | - | - | | - | **Filtering applied:** Deband | - | - | | Source | Encode | |:-------------:|:-------------:| | ![Tenki No Ko Frame](https://lainsafe.delegao.moe/files/162772252211864.png "Tenki No Ko Frame") | ![Tenki No Ko Frame](https://lainsafe.delegao.moe/files/162772248340316.png "Tenki No Ko Frame") | | ![Tenki No Ko Frame](https://lainsafe.delegao.moe/files/162772258100651.png "Tenki No Ko Frame") | ![Tenki No Ko Frame](https://lainsafe.delegao.moe/files/162772260453292.png "Tenki No Ko Frame") | | ![Tenki No Ko Frame](https://lainsafe.delegao.moe/files/162772266392659.png "Tenki No Ko Frame") | ![Tenki No Ko Frame](https://lainsafe.delegao.moe/files/162772263638335.png "Tenki No Ko Frame") | | ![Tenki No Ko Frame](https://lainsafe.delegao.moe/files/162772270163329.png "Tenki No Ko Frame") | ![Tenki No Ko Frame](https://lainsafe.delegao.moe/files/162772276604001.png "Tenki No Ko Frame") | | ![Tenki No Ko Frame](https://lainsafe.delegao.moe/files/16277227280737.png "Tenki No Ko Frame") | ![Tenki No Ko Frame](https://lainsafe.delegao.moe/files/162772279710406.png "Tenki No Ko Frame") | More comparisons: https://slow.pics/c/aiCpVcHG --- *Feedback is always appreciated. WTF. CPU1 ? That is some ridiculous amount of cpu cycles. Thank you so much for the effort. This is possibly the best encode of this movie to be ever produced.
wow! Thank you :)
2.3 GB for a sub 2h AV1 release? Any reason this release is so huge?

Are you joking with the 192kbps Opus bitrate for a stereo source? Sure it's a film but wow. Anything above 128 kbps for stereo source is wasted bits with Opus, unless it's sonically-complex music like choral/choir or harpsichord. Well, I'm sure you'll get things dialed in eventually. The video encoding is more important anyway. That said, 1 GB per hour is kinda big for AV1 on animated content... Good work regardless. More people should be releasing stuff in AV1. There is demand for it, almost all recent android-based mediaboxes and mobile devices play it fine, and people with ancient PC architectures need to get out of the stone age. The VVC standard will likely be more widely adopted at the hardware level (it's co-developed by ITU and MPEG), so you should consider switching to that once TV's and mobile devices start coming out with native support for it (should start happening at the beginning of 2022).
Best release so far. Thanks!
This encode is only in sub right?
