## FIRST VVC RELEASE ON NYAA
> **Please follow the instructions in the txt file provided to play the file. As of now, NO player can decode VVC videos or xHE-AAC streams, so this method won't be convenient, and that's why you haven't seen, and won't see many VVC videos in the near future.**
> This release could be perfectly decoded on a PC with integrated Intel HD 630 graphics. Anything older or weaker could struggle playing it smoothly.

Well, why wouldn't I ?
First of all, it shows people that even though the VVC standard was finalized mid-2020, it still isn't usable at all ! While AV1 was finalized in 2018 and the same year an encoder was available in ffmpeg and it could be decoded in VLC or MPV, even if performance wasn't exactly great at the time. VVC is even having trouble convincing ffmpeg guys to implement its only consumer grade encoder available yet, VVenC, which I used for this video.
Second, it's fun and being the first releasing VVC stuff is even more fun eheh
Third, so that people can already judge how good VVC is as of now, and when it'll be broadly adopted, the file will be decoded as easily as any other HEVC or AVC video on the website.
Same goes for xHE-AAC which is incredibly impressive for lossy audio (below 48kb/s it crushes Opus and is still decent). You would be surprised of how it sounds even at 24kb/s. Not great, of course, but impressive nonetheless.
Hi casper, I used Beatrice-raws release [here](https://nyaa.iss.one/view/1385036) if that's what you're asking, because it was definitely better than the original source.
