Great ! That was needed. File size is a bit heavy for my taste but I can't I say I was totally happy by what was released before (which was very old by the way). Again, one of those movies which don't attract enough attention for quality releases, which makes this one quite unique. Thank you for doing it.
A-FanRips' old encode is pretty good though.
@DoktorWeiss Because A-FanRips was like the reference release, even being AAC, I would have wish the audio to have a higher bit-rate. (it was exactly the same than for the 720p encode) It is noticeable that visually, lines in A-FanRips are softer than this one. There was another encode by Drei-Raws, with plenty of audio, but the ratio was messed up a bit (stretched horizontally) with sharper lines that on the other hand seemed a bit strange. Beside these, until now, I couldn't find any other offer. (and I'm surprised JPSDR didn't make one for this classic)
What is inside: | Track | Content | Format | Bitrate | Default | Forced |:---:|:---:| --- | --- | --- | --- | 1 | video | 1920x1080 H265/HEVC 4:2:0 10bit 23,976 fps | 18.3 Mbps | Yes | No | 2 | audio | japanese, DTS XLL 5.1 | 4385 kbps | Yes | No | 3 | subtitles | english, full subs, PGS (white) | - | No | No | - | chapters | yes At first, PGS subtitles can seem ugly, because very obsctructive. A simple line in a specific file configuration, using MPV player, to get them to a lower position: sub-pos=108 I didn't see any broken frame or hear any sound artifact, from start to finish. English PGS subs are nice, synced and display perfectly as well. BD remux is ~15 GiB. So this release is quite heavy. But this movie doesn't get enough love, and if you like it, you cannot go wrong with this one. (I found the video to be altered in some other releases (geometry, colors) while here it is untouched.)
