Some lines will be changed later. Typesetting for SFX will not be done. All important signs and texts on the screen will be typeset. You can expect upcoming episodes on Saturdays just after 18:00 CET. Changelog - Added typesetting - Completely retimed the script - Added honorifics and switched name order to original Japanese - Re-romanized many names (like in Nyanpasu's release) - Ryoko = Ryouko etc - Added many linebreaks - Changed some lines - Added roughly translated OP/ED subs (with kanji and romaji lyrics). - HEVC encoded B-Global video (thanks to NanDesuKa) ![](https://i.ibb.co/PMz1f4G/Machikado.png) PS. > masks are your friends kids This is our stylistic choice. Exactly like the debate over whether to replace SFX in manga or add small text with translation. We use masks only if absolutely necessary (there is no room to add a translation, for example).

>Riko You do know the mangaka herself romanized her name as Lico, right? Why are you forcing this tired /a/ joke into your subs? This is no better than the shitty memesubs you're trying to replace.
^ imagine trusting a japanese for romanization. should've fixed Spy x Family too
@JeganTypeR Riko is lot better since it matches the audio unlike shitty commie/gjm/funi subs. There is no L in romaji and R is still what you hear in audio.
The actual creator of the character writes the name "Lico", it's clearly a deliberate stylistic choice. Insisting on slavishly sticking to the audio/kana here is like defending "Rivaille" as the correct name for the Shingeki character, or using "Ririsu" for Lilith. It's gonna be even worse later in this series with Ugallu, who I expect this retarded subber is gonna refer to as Ugaruru because he has zero understanding or respect for the material.
I think x264 video is better than HEVC for B-Global. That being said, I agree with my friend Jegan. Also, that justification for not using masks is stupid. It's also way worse than using them, objectively speaking.
>There is no L in romaji and R is still what you hear in audio. You realize that "Alice" is read as "Arisu/Aris" in Katakana, right?
@Interruptor +1 - especially with the show pacing, masks are a must have. This is why I am taking rls from here and adding better TS from [Mad le Zisell] :P I also go with Lico for my translation. Anyway, thanks for the hard work :)
To be honest, I'm all for not using masks as long as they aren't absolutely needed. I prefer to see what was originally on the characters or bubbles. I also prefer Riko over Lico. Lilith is a whole different case. Additionally, I also prefer Shion over Sion, since she already has a full Japanese name altogether. @JeganTypeR Calling someone "retarded" because they have made different assumptions than you does make you "retarded" frankly. Even more so in this case. Working on the subs for this series is remarkably tiring. This is not the first time that translators have adopted a different spelling of names than the authors. Especially since "Riko" is pronounced very Japanese. And such a name exists in Japanese anyway. This is exactly the same situation as with Rukako in Steins;Gate. What was the reason for some people to write that name as Lukako. It didn't make any sense. I'm thankful that someone is willing to invest their free time, while the vast majority of people will watch whatever crap the official translation serves them up. @Interruptor I am almost certain they used the x264 version and made their own encode. Look at the video file size, it's completely different from nandesuka's HEVC release.
