Here are new raws for Osamu Tezuka's 1977 anime series, Jetter Mars! These are in 480p, in MKV format, and were ripped by yours truly from the ISOs uploaded here to Nyaa. The quality of the material used on the ISO is rather odd, as it looks like it went through NO remastering or restoration, and is almost like an LD or VHS master. Nevertheless, it serves its purpose for giving us a fresh set of raws for a show that desperately needed them. Jetter Mars started out as Tezuka's full-color remake of "Astro Boy" (aka Tetsuwan Atom), but due to some legal issues and other production hassles, he had to rework the entire concept into this new series. There are many, MANY similarities to Astro Boy and Jetter Mars, but the show does offer some different takes on Tezuka's standard cast of character designs, plus adds some strong, interesting foes for Jetter to fight later in the series (such as a real-life vampire, Jo the boxing robot with a part-time job as a trash collector, and my personal fav, Adios, the ninja cowboy robot with a pink guitar!). Jetter Mars only lasted 27 episodes, and based on how the last ep ends, it appears as though the cancellation took the team by surprise, since there is no real conclusion or wrap-up to the series (not even a two-part climax like most shows I've seen). Still, if you're a Tezuka completist, or are just curious at seeing what an Astro Boy remake would have been like, than you can't go wrong with Jetter Mars. Enjoy this slice of rare Tezuka pie, and be sure to seed for a while after you're done!
