Encoding notes: The video has seemingly random application of a very visible and ugly dither and extreme banding, often at the same time, I’ve done what I could to neutralize these with minimal damage to detail, but without scenefiltering it, which I didn’t want to do, the choice between protecting detail or cleaning more of the dither and banding had to be made, I chose to protect the detail, so the dither and banding occasionally show themselves, I also probably should have added more regraining.

Just took a look, and these most definitely aren’t worth 1080p

@nabiru3 Yeah, however it was upscaled they added a blur on top of it, 720p would have been fine, but I stuck with 1080p to keep the chroma and native text resolution and because it still probably looks better than what most people’s media player upscaling options would look like. Some scenes seemingly never got blurred and with the ED having been modified for every episode, in some episodes, for example, E09, it seemingly didn’t get or got much less of the blur applied to the ED. comp of the ED from E01 and E09 from JPBD just cropped. https://slow.pics/c/CILBUleV

@ElderKai NAOKI has very aggressive line thinning and chroma warping which caused tons of color bleeding, as well as whatever they decided to do with the color. There’s strong denoising and debanding which wiped most of the textures, but at least that does get rid of most of the banding… to me I don’t really think it looks nice, but everyone can have their own opinion on what looks nice to them. https://slow.pics/c/U5G95QAJ
