S1 had better animation, better/funnier facial expressions, more intriguing plot, etc
Overall it felt like a work of passion.
This feels like it was made by some interns who want to get the job done.

The animation is kind of bad, and in many scenes, the tone is at odds with what’s actually happening. I can tell the source material is funny, but the show somehow isn’t. There’s such a difference between how this material was adapted by White Fox compared to S2 by Studio 3Hz.
Oh, White Fox's adaptation is actually miles apart from the source material as well, which might also be gumming up the works a bit. The first season is great, sure, but, just so you know, the light novel series isn't a full-on comedy like the anime is. It has comic relief, but only on the level of your average anime. And just because Studio 3Hz is taking this one point way too far now and stacking generic AF writing on top of it, I feel the need to say this in particular: Emi is not a tsundere.
P.S. How the hell is this season rated almost the same as the first season on MAL?
