I made a v2 for this torrent because of the problems the last one had:

For more info about the video/dub/sub, you can find it on the original source torrent, if it’s an encode or remux, the track name will tell you more info.
Please give everyone who uploaded these torrents the credit they deserve.
Movies DBm1-4 and DBZm1-11,13 are remuxes because the source video was already x265, the audio and sub sources are described in the track names.
I added new comparison screenshots to the torrent, the left part of the screenshot is the source and the right part is the x265 encode.
There are regular screenshots for the remuxes, no comparisons because there is nothing to compare.
People on the v1 torrent also asked for online screenshots, so here are 5 screenshots in addition to the ones in the torrent.

There are no extras like openings and endings, because they’re so short and unnecessary to compress.
Refer to the sources if you would like to download them anyway.
I used the same encoding parameters for every video file except for:
DBS, this anime is much newer and thus has much less detail to preserve.
DBZls, this release has much better grain and thus has more detail to preserve.
DBZsp9-10, DBZm14-15, DBSm1-2, same reason as DBS.
Ffmpeg logs for every file are in the ./logs directory.
The ffmpeg parameters I used:
ffmpeg -loglevel verbose -i *.mkv -map 0 -c:v libx265 -preset slow -x265-params "crf=24:sao=0:bframes=8:aq-mode=3:ref=6" -c:a copy -c:s copy -c:d copy *.mkv
ffmpeg -loglevel verbose -i *.mkv -map 0 -c:v libx265 -preset slow -x265-params "crf=25:sao=1:bframes=8:aq-mode=3:ref=6" -c:a copy -c:s copy -c:d copy *.mkv
ffmpeg -loglevel verbose -i *.mkv -map 0 -c:v libx265 -preset slow -x265-params "crf=20:sao=0:bframes=8:aq-mode=3:ref=6" -c:a copy -c:s copy -c:d copy *.mkv
I’m not an expert at encoding but I think I’m advanced enough to understand some stuff, I read through the x265 documentation,
viewed multiple other projects and read this post (https://kokomins.wordpress.com/2019/10/10/anime-encoding-guide-for-x265-and-why-to-never-use-flac/) regarding x265 encoding for anime.
I drew my encoding parameters from all the info I gathered. If anyone has improvements, leave them in the comments.
I know this is a re-encode (x264 release) of an encode (bdmv) and I understand the quality loss in that.
I have a lot of horsepower to encode video but I just don’t have the time to collect all the sources myself.
AV1 looks even worse at the moment, the encoders are also pretty slow compared to x265.
As soon as SoM releases their remastered torrents, I’ll definitely encode them and make a v3, maybe with AV1.

@torrentguy Could you also encode all the audio or at the least the FLAC audio to OPUS to further reduce the file size with minimal quality loss in your v3 release?
torrentguy (uploader)
@Rohanroms yes i’ll keep that in mind, thank you.
Umimo360
AMAZING RELEASE!!!

@Umimo360 thanks a lot!
DoktorWeiss
Hey. Are you doing new encodes based on SoM’s recent color corrected Dragon Ball release?
torrentguy (uploader)
@DoktorWeiss at the bottom of the description it says:
nyaarunner
@torrentguy I hope you don’t use AV1, x265 works fine but I can’t play any AV1 videos.
DoktorWeiss
@torrentguy - I read that but assumed you meant after they do remasters of the entirety of Dragon Ball all the way to GT. Nevertheless, thanks for working on this.
@nyaarunner - What player are you using, and is it fully updated? All competent modern media players are capable of AV1 playback.
torrentguy (uploader)
@nyaarunner it seems weird to me that you can use HEVC better than AV1. HEVC is a licensing mess, I kinda realised that using HEVC for jellyfin or plex is bad because neither of them can stream the video directly to any client since none of them can play HEVC. Transcoding fixes that, but it degrades the quality even more because transcoding usually uses a fast preset to deliver frames quickly. We’ll see if I use AV1, it really depends on the encoding time, quality, file size, etc. Maybe a good VVC encoder will be out by then!
@DoktorWeiss Yeah, I’ll release it after they release their entire collection, I like having “complete” Dragonball torrents because I think it’s best if people only have to download one torrent to get the entire series. sorry if my response came off as rude :)
LucasRC
Only missing Dragon Ball Evolution (lol JK)
torrentguy (uploader)
@LucasRC actually thinking of adding that since it’s technically DB
Tenrai_Sensei
@torrentguy hevc is a licensing mess. Hevc can be played on Plex direct stream pretty much any device with hardware support but you will need to pay for the membership or monthly to get account access I believe. I’m not sure how you came to that conclusion. I think the best devices for Plex are windows, iOS and android devices as they support Ass subtitles. I direct stream on Plex never transcode.
torrentguy (uploader)
@Tenrai_Sensei I don’t know much about plex but with jellyfin it really depends, you need hardware support and then you need a browser that supports it. I have about 14 devices and most of them can only play h264,aac. Here’s a table of supported codecs for jellyfin: https://jellyfin.org/docs/general/clients/codec-support/ and here’s one for plex: https://support.plex.tv/articles/203810286-what-media-formats-are-supported/ as you can see there are a lot of different devices that do or don’t support hevc. it has nothing to do with plex membership. ios and android are pretty simple and usually work because all devices use the same app, windows will need a browser and hardware that supports hevc, linux is even more diverse. Also your comment about ass subtitles, for windows it still depends on whether you use the browser or the plex app. I think it’s wrong to say that “windows” supports something.
Gradius
Another OVERKILL. This is HEVC!!! You don’t need 250MB (or more) per ep, YET you made more than 2x at that !
torrentguy (uploader)
@Gradius With all that grain, half of which is destroyed by re-encoding anyway, you will definitely need more than 400mb per episode. I guess I aimed this release at people who want to enjoy db with a better look than the 16:9 washed out db standard of today, but don’t have terabytes of free space. Modern HEVC anime can be compressed much better because the animation is all flat and there are huge blocks of one colour on the screen many times in an episode. I thought all this was obvious, but I guess not.
