Splits are automatically joined based on the metadata from VIZ. If the first page is blank - it’s swapped with the second one so your reader shows some cover instead of a blank page.

No. I rip free stuff from VIZ, that’s all I do. You can download chapters from MangaDex (use HakuNeko for example) and compile them into volumes yourself.
