### This is a v2 release. If you plan on making another release of this series, I recommend going to the project page and checking if there were any updates since then. This release is fundamentally based off the [philosophy-raws](https://nyaa.iss.one/view/781275) and [Koten_Gars](https://nyaa.iss.one/view/1689960) releases but also has the following factors in play: * As stated above, the subtitles are from the 2023 retranslation by [Hudie Subs](https://hudiesubs.wordpress.com/saint-tail/) and reflect any updates by the time of this writing. Subtitle fonts are attached. * The general base for Japanese footage and audio is the [philosophy-raws](https://nyaa.iss.one/view/781275) release. Video footage is left as-is (H.264/AVC). * For episodes 1-2, I used the [Koten_Gars](https://nyaa.iss.one/view/1689960) release as a base since it's the only one I could find with a properly combined version of both episodes. Based on that, I also included their English dub encodes from the 2023 Discotek Blu-ray release for episodes 1-15, as well as modified songs/signs/NEP-only versions of the new translation in case anyone wants to watch the dub with them. (Only 15 episodes were ever dubbed, and they didn't dub the NEPs either, so that's just a product of the footage itself rather than anything to do with anyone's release.) * The labeling format for the tracks also follows the [Koten_Gars](https://nyaa.iss.one/view/1689960) release. * The audio has been compressed to AAC mainly because it being an anime from 1995 means it already doesn't have the world's most amazing audio quality, so there's really nothing FLAC gets a casual viewer besides wasted space. The English dub is even worse; it's like trying to figure out what's the best way to listen to something that's already a mastering disaster. In this case, it's less than a 2 GB difference, but it's something I do for my personal collection because this kind of stuff adds up, so I really didn't feel there was any sufficient reason to not do it. (For more about this issue, see [this explanation](https://kokomins.wordpress.com/2019/10/10/anime-encoding-guide-for-x265-and-why-to-never-use-flac/#why-you-should-never-use-flac); this isn't intended as a release you should be going for if you care about top tier preservation.) * I also included the non-credit OPs and EDs from the [philosophy-raws](https://nyaa.iss.one/view/781275) release, as well as translation tracks for them. The tracks are **not** enabled by default since I figure most people using a non-credit OP/ED wouldn't want subtitles by default, but it's there in case anyone wants it for reference. * The Japanese audio commentary for episodes 1-2 and 43 were provided by someone who would like to go by Phalanx for the time being. It's still untranslated, but I figured I'd include it because why not. Note that this isn't meant to be a Definitive Release or anything, I just felt it would be good to have something on nyaa with the new subtitles and threw in some other things that a casual viewer like me might want.
