By filtering the video (including combining multiple sources when necessary) to correct errors/artifacts/issues left behind by the anime studio or the streaming service, which increases image complexity thus increasing bitrate. Even a deband filter given enough bitrate to retain the detail/dither added by the filter, could increase file size.
