all the detailed backgrounds and colorful effects cannot overcome the fact that Mashle has the better OP and is thus the better anime tackling the same premise
Mashle isn't in any way original for having the concept on a non-magic person being in a magical academy. There's probably a hundred western novels with a similar premise. That said I liked Mashle but I feel like the stakes and plot got way out of hand way fast. I just like slower pacing. If anything this anime reminds me more of DanMachi going off EP - 1, only the MC already seems way too strong which is my biggest gripe, especially because he looks like a fucking twink
