Ripped from Geneon's X Remix DVDs (including video, audio and the Full Dialogue subs)
Signs and Songs subs were taken from the original Geneon X DVDs since the Remix DVDs seemed to have forgotten them entirely despite being a general improvement and that those type of subs subs being included was the standard by 2006
Audio: English (AC3 5.1),Japanese (AC3 5.1 and AC3 2.0)
Subs: Full Dialogue,Signs and Songs
People complaining never gets weird. Same with people who think Av1 with opus is neat. AC3 it's a good alternative to Flac which is really bloated unless you have a superior sound system. Sure crf-22 is a little awkward but it's amazing thing that we have computers and programs to do our own rips but we can complain when someone does something we believe it not right I mean the raws exist I see your version
It's not like the op is forcing us to download their encode. As for me I just watch the DVDs that's on my shelf. But your burn up releases were pretty damn good I don't have those
@freaky It's not about codecs. It doesn't really matter whether you use av1, hevc or avc for final compression. The thing is that old releases require filtering to optimize viewing on modern players. DVD discs were designed for 20-year-old technology: for playback on CRT televisions using DVD players. As for crf, you need a bitrate reserve because you will be viewing sd sources on fullhd displays.
Inexperienced encoders working with complex sources simply produce garbage. It would be better if this guy invested the time spent on encoding [**30 releases**](https://nyaa.iss.one/?f=0&c=0_0&q=Obscurerips) into studying the theory for creating one high-quality release.
AC3 5.1 is bloated not because it is AC3, but because it is stereo sound turned into fake 5.1
5.1 tracks are usually fine but they messed this up. The English track always has vocals in all speakers instead of primarily in the center so voices always has this reverb effect even if you watch it in stereo. The Japanese doesn't have this issue but does have syncing issues in some episodes from what I remember.
The old 8 disc Pioneer release with the untouched 2.0 is best for audio.
