[I figured, with the large number of people who're working on re-releasing old fansubs/rips, an IRC channel would greatly facilitate things. I've ed #oldsubs on Rizon for this purpose.
The intention here is to make it easy for people working on better releases to find slaves timers/OCRs (TLCs, QCs, encoders, etc are welcome too) to help with their projects, or to offer their expertise. Those already working on releases may find it easier to collaborate or seek help on the channel as well.
What #oldsubs is not:
\#oldsubs is not a fansub/rip group. Nothing will be released with ‘oldsubs’ as a label; whoever's working on a release is free to release it in any way he/she wishes.
\#oldsubs does not work on currently-airing releases. We have enough fansub groups for that.
\#oldsubs is not an xdcc channel. Project collaborators may put bots in the channel for filesharing convenience, but !list and @find should be left to #news and other release channels.
\#oldsubs is not a recruitment or advertising channel.
\#oldsubs is not a social channel. Collaborators are free to discuss other things, but leave imageboard posting and quote-pasting to #bakabt or other chat channels.
What #oldsubs is:
\#oldsubs is effort-free. I will not be making a "release page" for it (nothing's released under the label anyway), and I won't be doing much more than keeping the channel alive.
\#oldsubs is a guild, for want of a better term. You are responsible for your own releases; the channel is just a place for you to seek help with them.
\#oldsubs is unaffiliated.
That pretty much sums it up, I think. hopefully those of you working on better releases of old stuff will find this useful.](http://forums.bakabt.com/index.php?topic=28320.0)
