Hi thank you for the release, can anyone please give me the correct pattern to play English subs by default on MPC, I tried different patterns, still plays default BrPr (Kirinashi/FULL)

You don't need a pattern. There should be a way under the "Playback" section of the Options panel to specify that you always prefer english subtitles when they are available. The ISO language code for english is "eng" so you may need to enter it as "eng" in the preference field.
I use MPV to watch anime on my PC (although I rarely watch it on my PC anymore, I usually watch it on my Apple TV 4k using Infuse Pro - turns out a proper full-size recliner is more comfy than any computer chair)
However, upon checking MPC, which I also have installed and also only used to watch anime (mostly), my settings are as follows:
Subtitles: eng
Audio: jpn eng
This should make it so that english subtitles are always enabled.
Please note that MPC has no way to determine whether an eng track is full dialogue subtitles or "only signs and songs" and will simply default to the first subtitle track with the "eng" language code in the track order. Many lazy USBD rippers default this to signs and songs. You can enable or disable subs entirely by pressing w on your keyboard. You can cycle between subtitle tracks by pressing s on your keyboard. These are useful if subtitle tracks are mislabeled and can't be selected by MPC automatically.
Was the BD bad? some of the dark scenes look utterly ass. So much blocking on characters skin and other artifacting. Kind of unconscionable for a ~1GB HEVC encode
