# \[LUMi\] VTuber Legend \[WEB 1080p HEVC\] (VDen | VTuber nanda ga Haishin Kiri Wasuretara Densetsu ni Natteta | VTuber Legend: How I Went Viral after Forgetting to Turn Off My Stream) ## Sources | Type | Track | Notes | |-------|----------|-------| | Video | CR WEB | x265 encode; see Encode section | | Audio | Japanese | CR WEB | | Audio | English | CR WEB | | Subs | English Dialogue | CR heavily modified; see Subtitles section | | Subs | English Signs & Songs | Removed dialogue from above | Video, audio, and CR subs are from VARYG's releases. ## Encode Episodes 1-6 were x265 CRF 16, tune Animation, _Placebo_ preset. Eventually I realized how stupid it was to use Placebo and went to VerySlow, then later to Slower since it didn't have a major quality downgrade. This show doesn't really need that much bitrate regardless. No filtering was done. I'm not an encoder, but this result looks fine IMO. Note: In episode 8 at 10m24s, one of the phone sections has color correction(/a LUT) applied to the pillarboxing, which is not present in the other stylized shots in this scene. Presumably this is a fuckup, so I added a mask in the subtitle tracks to make the pillarboxes black again. Could have probably fixed this in the encode itself somehow, but this was way easier. ## Audio The english dub isn't half bad from what I've heard of it so far, but please for the love of god **switch back to the japanese track for the ED songs**. The audio quality (or at least the volume) is way lower in the english dub track. I added a note about this to episode 1's signs & songs track. ## Other Notes I've included (in the "Extras" folder) the less censored versions of the illustrations that appear in episode 5. You can also find them on the anime's website [here](https://vden.jp/special/05_illust.html). Very unfortunate that they apparently aren't even giving the uncensored version of illust 4 in the BDs tho I'm not marking this as a remake because the subs are (mostly) my own, and I _think_ that's the proper way of handling this? Sorry if not, the rules aren't particularly clear in defining "Reencode of an original release". ## Subtitles These are meme subs (ish). this show is a meme. are you surprised? oh also i used mtl for some of the signs that CR was too lazy to sub, but heavily modified & often researched. thus there are quite a few T/Ns. A lot of these signs are genuinely unreadable at 1x speed, which I only realized after episode 6 or so, giving me a convenient excuse to get a whole lot lazier with the live chat signs. Quite a few in the latter half of the show were just left as CR's with no modification, and I focused on the actually _interesting_ typesetting instead. All 11 unique EDs (& the OP) have english lyrics & K-timed romaji. The insert song in episode 12 has english lyrics (slightly modified CR). Sidenote: I know that these aren't the most reputable sources for lyrics but I did extensive QC and modifications to make them work. The results are... _fine_, in my opinion. | Episode | ED Romanization | ED Translation | Notes | |---------|-----------------|----------------|-------| | Ep01 | Lyrical-Nonsense| Lyrical-Nonsense | OP lyrics are also modified lyrical-nonsense | | Ep02 | [animesonglyrics](https://www.animesonglyrics.com/vtuber-nandaga-haishin-kiri-wasuretara-densetsu-ni-natteta/otoko-to-onna-no-love-game) | [lyricstranslate](https://lyricstranslate.com/en/satomi-taki-otoko-onna-no-love-gam-english) | I modified some of the english lyrics iirc | | Ep03 | [vocaloidlyrics fandom](https://vocaloidlyrics.fandom.com/wiki/%E3%82%B9%E3%82%A4%E3%83%BC%E3%83%88%E3%83%9E%E3%82%B8%E3%83%83%E3%82%AF_(Sweet_Magic)) | [vocaloidlyrics fandom](https://vocaloidlyrics.fandom.com/wiki/%E3%82%B9%E3%82%A4%E3%83%BC%E3%83%88%E3%83%9E%E3%82%B8%E3%83%83%E3%82%AF_(Sweet_Magic)) | Some of the romanization was modified with [genius's romanization](https://genius.com/Genius-romanizations-junky-p-sweet-magic-ft-kagamine-rin-romanized-lyrics) I think | | Ep04 | [Lyrical-Nonsense](https://www.lyrical-nonsense.com/global/lyrics/live-on-cast/live-start/) | Crunchyroll | Sorry for the k-timing being completely different between romaji & english, trust me it only gets worse in ep12 lol | | Ep05 | Oyasumi | Oyasumi | I'm not 100% sure who did the Welcome to the NHK ED, but I yoinked their translation. I think I already had romaji at that point but I think I also cross-checked it with theirs. The k-timing for the english being different than for the romaji is super distracting, i am aware. i'm just too lazy to change it | | Ep12 Insert | None | Crunchyroll | | These subs aren't completed by any means, I just simply cannot continue with this project or I'll go insane. We're talking hundreds of signs per episode. And they aren't all terrible... but some of them really _do_ suck. Feel free to grep the sub files for "TODO". Also, don't expect the mocha tracks to be perfect or anything. I did my best to not make them unwatchably jumpy, but some of them still look kinda shitty. Some of them blend in literally perfectly though, so I'm not sure what my problem is lol I **DID NOT** QC the signs & songs track. I tried my best to preserve any translation notes from the full subs, but other than that I literally spent zero effort making them. Just selecting all the dialogue and deleting it. This project has already taken _far_ too long as it is. ## Staff just me :-) ## Screenshots (aka typesetting p\*rn) (plus one screenshot of karaoke to prove it exists) | | | | ----------------------------------------- | ----------------------------------------- | | ![](https://files.catbox.moe/uwzcn0.webp) | ![](https://files.catbox.moe/t44bl3.webp) | | ![](https://files.catbox.moe/3okvum.webp) | ![](https://files.catbox.moe/id4qca.webp) | | ![](https://files.catbox.moe/nqjxpi.webp) | ![](https://files.catbox.moe/en9eje.webp) |

A couple notes: 1: If your source is a direct WEB-DL or BD, you don't ever need to mark as remake. 2: You probably shouldn't bother encoding WEB at all if you aren't going to filter, and you shouldn't try to filter if you haven't done your research into what needs doing. Nothing wrong with using CR video untouched. You are insane for even attempting this show and I respect the effort! Oh and as an addition: It should be possible to fix the dub songs by splicing in the Japanese tracks, if the US BD doesn't fix them if and whenever it comes out.

I kinda figured nobody's going to want to download a 17gb WEB-DL for a slice-of-life, and this release was already going to be niche no matter what. Might as well maximize its audience so that it doesn't die in like a month. As for the dub songs, I considered doing that, but I didn't want to bloat things by having a FLAC track from a lossy source. Unless that's not needed and a track can change codecs partway through? To my knowledge that's not possible though. Thanks for checking it out! I spent way too much time on this lol
I think you can actually splice AAC together, I just don’t know how. It’s something for someone working on a BD release to figure out anyway though, since they’d have lossless sources for hopefully both languages which are easier to work with.

appreciate all the effort on the subs though
