Here’s a ripe piece of Japanese misogyny from 1990, the 90-minute OVA OL Kaizou Kouza (Office Lady Remodeling Course). The premise of the OVA is that female office workers (here called “office ladies” or OL) don’t know their place and don’t act as subservient robots to the hardworking men who keep Japanese business humming.
They want to have fun, keep normal hours, travel, and of course, get married to good-looking men with money.
There’s no through plot. The show consists of dozens of skits, organized topically into ten “chapters.” The skits are intermittently funny, but it’s a long slog.
VHS rip; the OVA was never released on other media. (If you watch it, you’ll know why.) See this blog entry for more detail.

There’s no premise. Just a bunch of anecdotes about Japanese OL.
There are a lot of books about Japanese office politics at 80’s-00’s. They are much scarier than you can expect. Putting laxative in the food is the least of pranks.
