Thank you ZeroBuild, just did some investigation to this. Apparently even if finalize_clip is used on a 16-bit raw video, unless I specify --output-depth 10 in the x265 settings it still encodes to 8-bit. v2 will be coming in a couple of days (give it a few days in case there are other issues that get discovered that I can fix).

you could have saved yourself so much headache if you just used vs-muxtools
