What's the deal with v2 for series from few years ago though?
I know that streamer companies changed their Aegisub to that new app with AI and also use the interrior srt over ass for subs now,
Does that mean that all of these v2 for series that came before this air season where the change was made are actually worse?
Not to mention that they updated the subs over the years and not always for the better (stuff with jap meaning changes to random stuff that westerns could understand, etc.).
We're doing batches again, at least for the previous season's shows, not least because of the ttml sub conversion debacle.
Tondemo Skill de Isekai Hourou Meshi S2 gets a batch, but we didn't do a batch for S1, so this is that.
The subs for both S1 and S2 are still regular ASS subs, the subs didn't change much.
No batches this season have used any SRT/ttml-like converted subs and the source did revert many subs back to their original ASS format. We might have to use the worse subs if it's never fixed, but right now there's enough other shows to do batches for that do not use any ttml sourced subs.
v2 is because the file had changed, sometimes the video was re-encoded, sometimes there's subtitle corrections, but in most cases, including for this batch, additional fonts are being muxed that were not present in the first version.
You're free to compare the subs from both versions to see that it's not really that different.
