not my release didn't see it uploaded so I figured I would do it 2024 Discotek USBD remux Description from Nyaa: Compared to the 2007 JP DVD and [the older] JP BD, the Japanese 2.0 track on Kitty Media’s 2017 US BD and Discotek’s 2024 US BD is more limited and has two segments with a pretty noticeable channel volume imbalance. Also, the center channel of the Japanese 5.1 track on these US BDs is mastered weirdly, with significant dips from ~2 kHz to ~8.5 kHz and from ~11 kHz to ~18 kHz, causing everything in it to sound muffled compared to the 2.0 mix. Only the center channel has these EQ dips, and the other main channels’ (1, 2, 5, 6) mastering is closer to the 2.0 mastering. Save for some additional top-end noise on the Discotek versions, the English 2.0 and 5.1 tracks were essentially the same on the 2004 Kitty Media US DVD (didn’t have 5.1), Kitty Media BD, and Discotek BD. I suspect that none of the 5.1 mixes of either language are true lossless based on their frequency cut-off points. Discotek’s tracks had also been padded to 24-bit, so I downsampled them to 16-bit. I’m interested to know if there’s a good version of the JP 5.1 mix out there, so let me know if you have a release that might have one. I checked out the Kitty Media DVD’s 5.1 track, but it seemed to be an upmix. The subtitles I took from the Discotek BD and OCR’d, styled, retimed, and typeset them.
