Piyo Piyo Productions presents:  Hi-Speed Jecy episode 04 (of 12) v1.0 (Video version 2.0, script revision "C") http://www.otakubell.com/ppp/ Plot synopsis: Jecy Moore’s family was killed before his eyes by the Bismark pirate clan, and he has dedicated his life to tracking them down and making them pay for their crimes. On their side: A ruthless band of intergalactic pirates with loads of firepower and the will to use it. On his side: A mysterious sentient bio-mechanical alien spacecraft called “Paolon,” a priest of the Heartland sect, who believes that pain leads sinners to paradise and is expert in inflicting said pain, his sister Tianna, and, of course, high speed… Project notes: One of my greatest regrets from my old days in Lupin Gang Anime was never getting past a rough beta version of episode 1 of Hi-Speed Jecy before we packed it in. ACR subtitled 1-3, but he informed me he did not intend to continue subtitling this (or any other) series. Fortunately, his translator had already completed the entire series, and she got in contact with me. She's an unusually hands-on translator - she likes to looks over the script once the timing and editing is done, really wants to be kept up-to-date with the latest script versions. We sent the script back and forth to each other a few times - please enjoy the final result! I will, eventually, go back and remaster episodes 1-3, but not until I subtitle 5-12. A SPECIAL NOTE FOR EPISODE 4: There were a number of mastering problems with Hi-Speed Jecy, and episode 4 was particularly problematic. If you download a raw, you'll see it suffres from an extreme amount of jitter. This is how the original laserdisc was released! I know, because I perform all of my own captures from the original disks. I was able to stabilize the jitter with AVISynth filtering, but at the cost of some sharpness and, in some areas (especially in the first minute or two), jerkiness of motion. While not ideal, its a hell of a lot less distracting than the jitter was. I have included some samples of the de-jittering work on my technical page. A NOTE ON ROMANIZATION: The romanization of names in ACR's version of 1-3 made me nuts. Please be aware that I have altered them. I don't think the translaotr was thrilled, and you may not be thrilled either. But it pleases me.
