Commence operation SAB! (Smooth as Butter!)
The frame interpolation experiment continues...
There are no significant quality issues to report with this one.
One important thing to note: decoding and playing x264 content at 60fps can require some serious power(especially at 1080p), if you find any motion consistently jerky it is because your setup is not powerful enough to play it.
Something else to note: When I was testing the 1080p@60fps encodes, some of them did not play smoothly with CoreAVC using CUDA (This was with an Nvidia GTX 570), but played fine when I used FFDShow.
Keep in mind, the differences between this and any normal frame-rate files you have can be best seen on larger screens such as TVs with their own true motion/judder filters turned off. In many cases these software based interpolations will win when compared to the hardware implemented on the one on your high end TV.
Although interpolating frames like this is still far from perfect, I believe the pros out-weigh the cons for folks who want their anime to be more immersive. Just don't be surprised if you see some artifacts here and there.
