Appleseed (2004) Notes Wall of rant: • I have to start out by saying that Appleseed really hasn't aged well. The Blu-ray transfers are probably not half bad, but the actual 3D renders leaves a lot to ask for. There are many places where the Toon Shader simply craps itself and output pure aliased, banded, blocky, noisy garbage with some kind of overlaid, grungy filter. The introductory warzone scene is exemplary at showing this. • This uses the Japanese BD as source. I've seen people argue that the Amerikkan BD is better - which is only partially true. The warzone part mentioned earlier does indeed look better on the US disc, and is therefore spliced in from it. The rest of the movie has a color balance which is just plain _wrong_. Left=US, right=JP.) • Includes Japanese audio, commentary and two kinds of English dub. • Subs are edited official ones. 3xR's is included as well. • Yes, this is an official release.
