This particular scene with Jojo's face is more detailed in the Crunchyroll version; it's easier to discern the lines under his eye, as well as those for his mouth and nose. Other than this the Crunchyroll version is inferior in every other way with much less detail elsewhere and visible blockiness (macroblocking?) that is readily apparent in shadowed areas.
It's almost as if the Crunchyroll version is a higher resolution but that can't be the case. I'm assuming it's just some quirk of the compression settings Crunchyroll have used that have inadvertently sharpened this frame.

There's also a stark difference in brightness; the Crunchyroll broadcast is just brighter. Why?
