First, some major news: earlier this week, our friends at Hokuto no Gun and HappyScans! completed their scanlations of the Sabu & Ichi manga. Now this classic is finally available for all English speaking fans to enjoy. Shotaro Ishinomori fans rejoice! Off-topic rant: I hope that in my lifetime some scanlation group out there decides to tackle some of Go Nagai's older non-mecha related manga, particularly Abashiri Ikka and Harenchi Gakuen. I'd also like to see someone scanlate Yuki Hijiri's Chojin Locke. That said, it's been really amazing to finally be able to read classics like Go Nagai's Dororon Enma-kun, Devilman and Mazinger Z, Leiji Matsumoto's Captain Harlock and Gun Frontier, Mitsuteru Yokoyama's Babel II and Giant Robo, and of course Dr. Tezuka's W3, just to name a few. Much love to all the scanlators out there who have been sinking so much time and effort into classic titles rather than chasing the latest flavor of the month. Back to the matter at hand: the latest Sabu & Ichi episode as subtitled by Hokuto no Gun and yours truly. Sabu finds himself on the other side of the truncheon when he is accused of robbing a noodle vendor and beating him half to death. Say it ain't so, Midori!
