There was a defect in my original encodes on scenes with interlacing that made them look awful. I never actually watch all of these episodes all the way through after encoding them because I don't speak Japanese natively, and therefore never caught the problem until I happened to be going back through an episode for one reason or another. Anyway, these are 29.97fps encoded straight from blu-ray. I found that there were scenes where all 5 frames in a cycle were unique, so I left it as 29.97 instead of decimating like one would expect. This is why it's so important for people to report these problems (no one ever did). Please help me make better encodes by reporting errors in the video.
