I love this show. No, seriously, this show is fantastic. It's a pretty straightforward cliché sports-style plot arc, and there's cheese galore, but I think I got about halfway through episode 2 when I just started laughing and couldn't stop, just from the sheer "oh my god they're actually doing this completely straigthfaced and it's amazing" reaction. Beyond that, the tank designs are great, the battles are decently well choreographed, the sound design is **goddamn** spectacular, and it's just a whole lot of fun.
This release is a bit more special than usual as well. For video, we've got Beatrice-Raws 1080p release, which looks fantastic. 720p comes from DmonHiro, as the only worthwhile 720p encode. Signs and subtitles are from ak, with Sentai's signs/subs included as a bonus.
For audio, there's a special never-before-seen bonus. The Japanese track is 2.1 audio, which was an optional track on the BDs that Beatrice included. I've muxed it in, as the tanks really deserve that extra low frequency bump. If you've got a good subwoofer, get ready to have your house shake. But what about the English track? Yes, I've included a 2.1 track as well. Now, this track doesn't actually exist in any USBD. I muxed the Japanese low frequency in myself, checking to make sure it lined up and didn't conflict at all. (Special thanks to Hark0n for suggesting this). It sounds beautiful and everyone deserves it.
Some of you might be aware that Sentai unfortunately did not get the license for a particular Russian song in episode 8. Since there was no reason it couldn't be mixed in, and because I am a generous and loving Catar, I have spliced that in over the lame music we normally got in the English dub. It fits in seamlessly, and since the JPBD encode from Beatrice features the characters singing, it all works out perfectly.
Finally, I've also done the OVAs as included by Beatrice, same sources. They're a little bit fanservicey, but the later ones aren't bad. The scouting mission one (Winter War!) is actually pretty good, check that out for sure. The OVAs take place chronologically during the series. I've included after their titles a number where you might decide to watch them (eg: Girls.und.Panzer.S00E02.Water.War!.**4.6**.1080p-Hi10p.BluRay.FLAC2.1.x264-CTR.\[ABDE84A3\]). They're not important to the plot however, and you can definitely watch them all after the main series. Also, sorry 720p users, but there were no encodes up to my standards for the OVAs. Get the 1080p and enjoy the ride.
I think I can call this the definitive English release for Girls und Panzer. Genießen, freunde.
**CTR Releases:** Collecting the best available sources around the internet and packing them up so you don't have to. My releases cater specifically to English audio viewers, though Japanese viewers are of course welcome. More details can be found on the individual release threads or at [my index](http://kametsu.com/topic/54803-the-ctr-index-your-new-home-for-bloated-1080p-dual-audio-releases/) on Kametsu, where you can also pitch me on whatever shows I go after next.
Enjoy.
