Hokuto no Ken - Fist of the North Star - Movie Collection Enjoy a wallpaper instead of site link. This release compiles the original Hokuto no Ken movie from 1986 as well as the "Legends of the True Savior" movies (technically 2 of them are OVA) made for the series 25th Anniversary. The original 1986 movie is notorious for being censored in all home media releases, but I managed to track down a version which seems to have used the Japanese remastered DVD footage spliced with uncensored scenes from the Italian VHS which is the only almost completely uncensored version of the movie. Edit: I've been told that apparently this is still censored and doesn't have spliced scenes actually, I was confused by the weird nature of the censorship here which just seems to be transparent color overlays rather than the kind of censorship I'm more familiar with, sorry for confusion in this regard. As such it's just the remastered DVD footage. For the Legends of the True Saviour collection, I've used the CtrlHD encodes of the Italian Bluray releases, which I believe alongside the French ones are the only BD releases of those movies in general, as Japan never received a BD release. HnG did release those movies but unfortunately only in DVD rips and the encodes weren't the best either, furthermore they were hardsubbed which was hardly optimal, the translation itself however was excellent. Additionaly those BDs are not simple DVD upscales and have very clearly been actually mastered in higher resolution which makes the BD rip certainly worth it. HnG's release not being the most optimal + the BD rips being available prompted me to get this done. Since for some reason I can't include the 480p/720p tags both in the torrent name, let me clarify that the 1986 movie is in 480p while the Legends of the True Savior movies are 720p.
