They must prevent more from abusing their powers and stop a serial killer. In the previous seasons the colors were only weird in battle mode... but now they are all the time! I wondered why they would pick such an ugly color for the sky on purpose... a sickening mix of piss and diarrhea... but when the sun started to shine beautifully... I figure out that it's a golden sky. It was a disappointment that Dio's costume had hearts on it in the previous season... but now they're EVERYWHERE!!! I was really dreading to watch this Jojo because of his awful haircut... But it's not a regular banana twirl... Is it a cap made of hairs, a beaver tail, a tongue, a butt...? But when he faced the camera it became obvious... it's a heart! Of course!!! His collar has a weird shape... but if you look at the curve for his collar bones... it's a giant golden heart!!! And as if it wasn't overdoing it enough, he has many huge pins of golden hearts... (What has been seen can't be unseen, mwahaha!) His personality is the closest to the first JoJo, he's cheerful and cheesy... I guess Dio's aggressiveness no longer influence their bloodline, even the previous JoJo calmed down. I wondered why it became so girly cheesy... JoJo's Stand is PINK!!! Is it because the artist is actually a girl? A really badass girly girl? Or a gay man (nothing's wrong with that, but it could explain the muscle fetish mixed with pink and hearts...) Or did he get a meddling girlfriend "Your manga is too violent, let's put hearts everywhere, tee-hee!" NOOOO! Well... they make a point at the end that explains it... it's cheesy cool... but I think they over did it... (I finally understand the contradicting mix of girly badassness. The manga artist is a guy: Hirohiko Araki. But the character designer is a girl: Terumi Nishii. Well, maybe I was too harsh calling her work awful... I'm just not into hearts, but it sure is original.) Should we watch it anyway? After all... Dio is gone... Of course damnit, it's still JoJo! It's not just cheesy freaky... it's also badass freaky... It's so full of mind fucks... and it feels~ so~ good~~~ Actually, I might hate it but... the cheesy cheerful stuff balances the gloom, and it wouldn't be as much fun without it. The subs are wrong, but it's probably not HS's fault. Jojo's stand is called CRAZY diamond, not shining diamond. It sounds even cheesier than it's supposed to be, the anime is meant to be crazy. In the previous season, Cool ice is called Vanilla ice, which is probably an homage to the American singer, but that's lost in the subs. The dissonance really aggravates me. They say english words, no need for translation, using another word is an insult to their effort to speak english. In saw a review explaining what makes a good villain... It's to make him credible as a real human being, with his own life and hobbies... Not just an empty tool to make the main character look more heroic. The serial killer's personality is very rich. He's more terrifying than Dio was... because he could be living next to you! His power is similar to the previous JoJo, but it's not just massive destructive power, it can also undo the destruction. He can repair... and heal... how nice right? Thankfully he has a "golden heart" and doesn't seem to realize how powerful he is... but sometimes he does really horrible things, like it's no big deal, almost in a friendly way... But when you think about it... it's a deeper terror than Dio or the serial killer combined. They gave a quick and relatively painful death... But JoJo can give eternal torment. He has the power to control and reshape matter as he sees fit... What he does with a rock in an early episode reminded me of "Shinsekai Yori - From the New World", especially the horribly cruel punishment at the end. The mood was cool, but I was shaking from fright at the idea to go through that. The most hated character of all anime times is from Full Metal Alchemist... The father that merged his cute little girl with his dog... JoJo can do that... and he can do worse... He can combine a living being with an object! Defying the laws of biology... making them unable to move but still conscious... trapping them in the equivalent of a coffin... but if you were buried alive, you'd eventually be freed from the torture by dying of thirst, hunger or suffocation... but they become sentient objects... so they're immortal... unable to live, unable to die... trapped in limbo for eternity... It's worse than death. Probably worse than hell too. I felt sheer terror and he just walked away like it's no big deal... Golden heart my ass, more like the pitch black heart in your hairs. I think I'll stop mocking his haircut. He... scares me... more than the villains... and Kira is really freaky. Well, noticing that made the anime more enjoyable for me. I find pleasure in being creeped out, I sure had fun. Someone was wounded, but girls walked away without calling for help, calling him creepy. They felt superior looking down on him, and walked away smiling, feeling good about themselves, while leaving him to die, without shame or a care in the world. Disgusting. I admire the anime for showing how rotten and heartless people can be. It's not my favorite JoJo... he did some really stupid things... but he always helps people in need even if he could get hurt. I respect him for that. It was courageous of the artist to change and even kill his main characters. I've never seen that before. I only saw them getting older and have children in Dragon Ball, but Goku stayed the main character. People can have fantasies of being a powerful immortal vampire, but the artist made a point: immortality is over rated. Dio ended up facing JoJo's descendants, basically clones of JoJo. Dio stayed the same, with the same habits and the same knowledge... But JoJo recreated, reinvented and surpassed himself. There was only one of Dio, but there was two JoJo facing him in the end... JoJo evolved, that's why he won... He lived on through his children. So death isn't the end as much as it can seem to be. The anime expressed that beautifully with the previous seasons, and that makes it a really wonderful anime~ I hope to get more. Apparently there will be a live action in 2017.
