It's lovely. The drawings and animation are beautiful. Their friendship is full of love and devotion. If they're lesbians it's done with class, with consensual respect, unlike the tit grabbing assault that I'm sick of seeing... The themes are deep, choices aren't morally black and white, and the characters are thorn by having to choose the lesser of two evils. There are a rich variety of passionate emotions. The anime shows how scary war can be, especially with greedy uncompromising conquerors. Finding more powerful weapons can make the battle deadlier for both sides. (Our world leaders actually agreed on rules to limit the cruelty of the bloodshed during wars.) I like how the witch isn't all powerful, but has downsides and limits; you can feel her desperation to succeed. It's really engaging, one of the best series I've seen of fall 2016. She rides a giant rifle instead of a broom, it's so badass original! Enjoy~
