I put off doing this for a long time because it takes a long time to qc everything with the subs properly. So I just decided to lower my standards in favor of releasing something ever. The difference between these subs and previous seasons in my releases is that I didn't go through and split subs where people may have had overlapping dialogue or nearly overlapping dialogue. Funimation tends to have strict rules on how long subs have to remain out per line of dialogue which means they have a broader definition of overlap than I do. I generally split those lines into discrete lines in the subs because I assume people can read faster than they do. All I qc'd for were spelling mistakes.
Here it is finally. The first release of the post timeskip era, episodes 517-552 (excluding the Toriko crossover episode 542). There's not much to say about it. It's the same quality of encoding I have always done. One thing that did annoy me is that one of the voyages was stored interlaced instead of progressive on the dvds like they had been which meant I had to frame match and re-encode those episodes once I noticed.
A lot of people have messaged me over the past few months about doing this. I mostly told them I was out of the game because it was too time consuming. This was less time consuming than previous releases, so I'll probably keep doing them.
I will probably do a 720p release at some point when I can find the rips from Funimation's site. I wouldn't do it with Japanese raws because then I'd have to rewatch it and put in signs for all the Japanese floating sign text.
I won't seed this for too long. Probably just a week or so. If you want torrents like this to stay alive, the community has to be the ones to make it happen.
